Selected Poems 2016–2026 gathers ten years of poetry by former Plymouth Poet Laureate Thom Boulton, charting the development of a distinctive voice where mythology, popular culture, politics, love, death and the occult collide with the absurdities of everyday life.

Drawing on work from Prima Materia, Gebo and The Lesser Key, alongside published, performed and collaborative pieces, these poems move between surreal humour and tenderness, the sacred and profane, the cosmic and domestic.

Each year is introduced by Boulton with a new reflection on the influences, techniques and ideas shaping the work. Together, the poems form both a retrospective and the record of a decade spent building, and eventually questioning, a personal poetic mythology.
